Students of Arya College shines at Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival
Declared Second in Medal Tally by their Excellent Performance


                               Ludhiana : 15 October 2011

Students of Arya College came out with flying colours in the Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Ludhiana Zone-A,  held at the college from 27th to 30th  September, 2011 by bagging 35 prizes in various cultural items. The college grabbed 9 First positions, 12 Second positions and 14 Third Positions. By winning these prizes Arya College, Ludhiana declared second in Medal Tally in PU Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival  in which          15 co-educational colleges of Ludhiana district participated.


During the various competitions of the Youth Festival, the Group Song, Group Dance and Mime of the college was adjudged First . In Classical Dance,  Kumar Sharma put up a mesmerizing performance in Kathak  and won the First Prize. Shehnaaz Akhtar replicated the same in Ghazal, Rohini Gupta in Poster Making, Pawittar Singh in Mimicry, Ketan Mehta in Essay Writing and Kumar Sharma in Bhajan  by getting  First positions.

Second standings were  achieved by the college students in Shabad-Bhajan, Bhangra and Skit items. In Individual competitions Somit Sehgal in Histrionics, Kumar Sharma in Group Singing, Amit Bhalla in Folk Song, Deepika Dogra in Group Dance, Kulwinder Singh in Malwai Giddha, Shehnaz in Folk Instruments, Sachneet Singh in Elocution, Baljit in Pakhi Designing and Puja Sharma in Knitting got second prizes .
 
Ashavmedh Singh (Spot-Photography), Kailash Manral (Collage- Making), Sumandeep Kaur (Clay-Modelling), Manpreet Kaur (Giddha), Shehnaaz (Group-Song), Somit Sehgal (Skit), Bhanu Sood (Ladies Traditional Songs), Avneet (Phulkari), Kirandeep Kaur (Crochet), and Mehak (Mehandi- Designing)  made the college proud by grabbing third positions in individual items, while In group competitions the Drama, Giddha ,Kali and Folk Orchestra teams of the college were awarded third positions.

To-day Principal of the College Dr.T.L.Joshi appreciated the effort of the students and teachers in charge for putting this inevitable performance by winning 35 prizes in 40 events in which they participated.  He exhorted them to bring more laurels to the College in future as well.

Sudhir  Dean Co-curricular Activities,      Dr. S.P. Singh Joint Dean, Prof. (Mrs) Suksham Walia In-charge CCA (Women Section), Prof. Surinder Khanna and other Teachers-In-charge for their  guidance and efforts for  inspiring the students to bring out their best . BHARTI IT BLOCK OF ARYA COLLEGE INAUGURATED

            
Sh. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice chairman, Bharti enterprises Ltd, inaugurated the ‘Bharti IT Block, of Arya College, Ludhiana. This new I T Block has been set up with the financial assistance  of Rs. 20,00,000/-  donated by Sh. Sunil Bharti Mittal, a businessman  of international repute, and pride of India. He donated this amount as a proud alumnus of this institution for raising the academic standards of the institution.  The Mittal family right from Sh. Sat Paul Mittal has always been very magnanimous in making contribution to upliftment of  the college. Under the patronage of Sh. Sat Pal Mittal, the College made progress by leaps and bounds and from a humble status the college assumed the dimensions of a mini university with a strength of more than 4000 students. The Mittal family has been instrumental not only in the growth of this institution, but it has rendered a yeoman’s service to the development of the nation as a whole.

The new Bharti IT Block has come up with a total investment of Rs. 50 Lacs and it is equipped with altra modern infrastructure and equipment. It has rendered a new sheen to the glorious name of the College and it will go a long way in disseminating quality Computer Education to the Students.

On this occasion Dr. T.L. Joshi, Principal of the College extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, distinguished guests and members of the Managing committee. He also thanked Sh. Rakesh Bharti Mittal and family for financial assistance for setting up Bharti IT Block in the college and for the keen interest that the Mittal family takes in the betterment of this institution.
On the inaugural function, a variety programme was presented by the College Students. The function started with lighting of the lamp, the Students gave spell binding performances in various activities and the audience was spell bound.

In the inaugural address Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal said that the corporate sector is coming forward for the cause of education. The Bharti foundation is running 250 Satya Bharti Primary School and 6 Hr. Secondary School all over the country. The Education being in these schools emphasis ethical values and enables the students to become employable after completing the school education. He also praised the newly built IT Block of Arya College for its infrastructure and equipment. He suggested to the students that “follow dreams”. You may not touch them but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny. He also emphasized that the future of the country depends upon our commitment and dedication. We have not to only to make India a third economic power but to make right things happen at the right time. He announced a financial assistance of Rs. 10 Lacs for the Administrative Block in the women Section of the College. 

On the occasion the distinguished guests who were present included Sh. Raman Kaushal, Advocate, Vice President, ACMC. Sh. Vijay Sareen, Secretary, ACMC. Sh. Pardeep Dhall and other members of the Managing committee, Sh. Pardeep Dhall, Sh. Jiwan Mohan Dhawan, Sh. Parshotam Sharma, Advocate, Sh. Ramesh Joshi, Sh. Rajinder Soi In the end Smt. Rajesh Sharma, President, Arya College Managing committee, thanked the Chief Guest and other distinguished Guests for gracing the occasion.

 ANNUAL CULTURAL FEST  2010

The Annual cultural function was held on 31/10/10 in Arya College, Ludhiana. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sh. Manish Tewari, Member Parliament.

The Chief Guest lighted the lamp to inaugurate the function. It was followed by the recitation of Bhajan to invoke the blessing of the Almighty. The Principal Dr. T.L. Joshi welcomed the  Chief Guest and other distinguished guests. He also focused on the achievements of the College in various fields especially in the field of cultural activities. He appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers incharge in bringing laurels to the college in the Panjab University Youth Festival by bagging 29 positions in various activities.

The students presented the various cultural items on the stage. The One Act Play that won the first prize in the Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival was re in acted by the students and it mesmerized the audience. Other items which were presented were Ghazal, Folk Song, Skit, Mimicry, Mime and Group Dance. The students regaled the   audience with their stellar performance. The function was really a cultural bonanza.

On this occasion the Chief Guest, Sh. Manish Tewari highlighted the importance of the cultural activities and exhorted the students take part in these activities as participation in them is a must for the all round development of the personality. He also laid emphasis on the importance of discipline, commitment and positive attitude.

In the end the President of the Arya College managing Committee Sh. Ashok Paruthi , Advocate proposed a vote of thank to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for gracing the occasion. He also congratulated the students on their outstanding achievement in the field of cultural activities. He also appreciated the efforts put in by the staff both teaching and non teaching  and the students  for making this function a grand success, he also hoped that the College will hold many more such function for development of the students.

Behl, Mrs. Satisha Sharma Former Incharge Women Section of Arya College, Ludhiana, Sh. Raju Thapar, Councillor, Sh. Anil Malhotra, Councillor, Sh. Hem Raj Aggarwal, Councillor, MC, Sh. Gurpreet Singh Gogi, Councillor, Mr. Diple Rana, District President Youth Congress, Mrs. Taparia, Distrcit President, Mahilla Congress and retired Professors of Arya College, Ludhiana.

Sh. Manish Tewari, Member Parliament has graciously announced a grant of Rs. 10 Lacs for the College in two consecutive financial year.

Excellent performance by young artists of Arya College in Youth and Heritage Festival of  Panjab University Chandigarh

Students of Arya College came out with flying colours in the Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival held at S.C.D. Govt.College Ludhiana from 9th to 12th  Oct, 2010 by bagging 29 prizes in various cultural items. The college won 8 First positions, 9 Second positions and 12 third Positions. By winning these prizes Arya College, Ludhiana became Second highest prize winner of the PU Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival (Zone- A) in which 11 Co-educational Colleges of Ludhiana district participated.


One Act Play named ‘Ik Kudi Zindgi Udeekdi’ staged by the College was adjudged Best Play of the Zonal Youth Festival while Pallvi Saluja bagged the Third Prize in acting. In the same manner college bagged First Position in Group Dance (General), while Richa was awarded the third prize in dancing. In Classical Dance Pallvi Saluja put up a mesmerizing  performance in Kathak and won the First Prize. In Collage Making, Deepanshu made the College proud by getting First Position. Rupali Sharma, Ruchika & Kulwinder Singh bagged the First Prize in Mehandi, Phulkari & Folk Dance respectively.


To-day prize winners of various group and individual  items were honored in the College auditorium. Principal Dr.T.L.Joshi appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in charge for winning 29 prizes in 37 events in which they participated.  Dr. Joshi also congratulated the winners and Teachers In-Charge of various events and exhorted them to bring more such laurels to the College in future also.
